CRESPINE GEL Plus 2ml is a viscosupplement injection containing both crosslinked and non-crossed linked sodium hyaluronate from a non-animal origin. This intra-articular implant is a highly pure, viscous gel that can help lubricate and cushion joints affected by osteoarthritis. The gel also contains Prilocaine, an anesthetic that helps make treatment more comfortable.
CRESPINE GEL Plus 2ml is a viscous gel, similar to the synovial fluid found naturally in joints. The gel forms a layer on the surface of the cartilage, helping to lubricate the joint and cushion the joint with movement. This helps reduce the painful grinding of cartilage within the joint, helping reduce osteoarthritis pain and making movement easier for the patient. The Prilocaine within the gel is an anesthetic which can help relieve pain, making the injections more comfortable.
The results of a CRESPINE GEL+ treatment, involving a single injection, usually last about six to eight months, so you will likely repeat these treatments about every eight to ten months to maintain the results. Your patients will likely start to feel pain relief about five to seven days after the treatment. Only qualified medical professionals should administer CRESPINE GEL Plus 2ml.
To use CRESPINE GEL+, first take a full medical history, advise your patient of precautions and possible adverse effects, and use an antiseptic to prepare the treatment area. Remove the syringe from its package, remove the cap covering the syringe tip, and attach a needle to the syringe. Before injecting the gel, minimize the chance of intravascular injection by performing aspiration first; if blood is present, reposition the needle. The absence of blood does not guarantee the injection is not into a blood vessel. Inject CRESPINE GEL+ intra-articularly, into the synovial cavity of the affected joint. The injection technique is important to the outcome of a CRESPINE GEL+ treatment. You can treat both knees or other joints, such as the hip, at the same time.
